Come out and witness some of the fastest and quickest radio control cars in America as Lynwood R/C Dragway hosts the Walbern Invitational Race on August 14, 15, 16, 2009. Lynwood's all new r/c drag strip will be tested to the fullest as some of America's top r/c drag racers come to town.
The racer lineup reads like a who's who in r/c drag racing, in Nitro Top Fuel are IMDRA's 2008 points champ Melvin Alston out of North Carolina. Wisconsin based Drag Race Concepts Ken Lupi winner of the IMDRA 2009 Eastern Nationals Race in T/F dragster. Atlanta's Gary Pugh with one of the few two speed dragsters to hit the 1.5's. Ken "Tuslow" Skinner and Ed "Fastman" Stern both out of Indiana with their 1.5 second Area 51 dragsters.

The Pro Mod - Funny Car class is no different with a host of top seeded drivers attending. Current IMDRA P/M points leader Kevin Moore with his OnStat Computers Pro Mod out of Illinois, Atlanta's Kevin Mathews with his t/f funny car currently set at #2 in IMDRA points standings. "The Beast of the East" Mark Price with his Nitro Nova from the east coast.

Don't miss the ground pounding Quarter Scales in attendance. This is as close as it gets to full scale racing without getting into the car. Smoking the tires during burnouts and racing gas. Hank Cork out of Indianapolis will be on hand with his two quarter scale cars. Ohio's Celina R/C Raceway Guy Hilleary with his T/F quarter scale funny. If you want to experience some of the best r/c drag racing then come to Lynwood R/C Dragway located at 10 Southland Drive in Lynwood, Illinois on August 14 - 16.

These are just a few of the racers that will be in attendance for the Walbern Invitational Race. Come on out to compete or just visit as a spectator. The track has concessions, restrooms, and excitement for the whole family.
